A member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario (RMTAO), I took my Massage Therapy certification from Humber College with honours. Through my studies, I had the opportunity to participate in massage therapy research and outreaches (off-campus hands-on training) for pre- and post-natal massage, infant massage, pre- and post-event athletic massage, AIDS, palliative care, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and breast health clinic.
Prior to my education as an RMT, I was exposed to Raja Yoga meditation in 2005, an ancient South Asian meditation practice where mindfulness and focus is used in order to clear and calm the mind. Where meditation provides me with mental flexibility and strength, I am also a yoga enthusiast practicing since 2006.
I believe that while it is important to have physical flexibility, it is just as important to have strength in structures where needed in order to prevent injuries down the road. Which is why I also actively participates in fitness classes.
I have a keen interest in the body’s fascial/connective tissue network and its relationship with pain and I am working my way to specializing in rehabilitative massage therapy for work-related and/or compensation injuries, joint and arthritic rehabilitation, deep tissue/myofascial massage, acute, sub-acute, and chronic pain.
